Who We Are
What We Do
At it's core, Judgingcard is a scansheet-based online scoring system used to tabulate FFA and 4-H judging contests.
Judgingcard also operates an online event registration system that facilitates over 2,500 FFA events each year.  Many of these events opt to have Judgingcard centrally collect their entry fees.  Centrally collecting entry fees for events allows event hosts to not have to manage money as well as let FFA Chapter's send a single consolidated payment for multiple events they register for.
Every FFA Chapter in the United States has an account on Judgingcard in which they can use to register for events and be invoiced for.
These Judgingcard Chapter accounts are also the back-end for the Agricultural Experience Tracker's TEACHER accounts.

Our History

The scoring system platform that is Judgingcard today was originally the creation of Clay Ewell in middle school.
At the time large judging contests such as the Tarleton State University Invitational CDEs in Stephenville Texas were scored by hand by dozens of volunteers.  Observing the scoring process with his father Frank Ewell (a then Professor at Tarleton), Clay figured he could design a system to do it better utilizing scansheets.
Over the next few decades, the Judgingcard system evolved organically through cooperation and assistance from the Agricultural Consortium of Texas (ACT) as well as colleges and universities across the nation.
Judgingcard's focus has always been to provide helpful low cost resources to the agricultural education family.

Who We Are

Clay Ewell
Founder & CEO
Clay began scoring FFA contests as a middle school student, helping faculty at Tarleton State University where his dad was a professor in Agricultural Economics. Years later, he attended Texas A&M University and received his degree in Electrical Engineering. Simultaneously, he continued to assist Texas universities and contest-hosting sites to more effectively and timely score FFA Career Development Events (CDEs) through developing an electronic, scansheet scoring system. Through this innovation, JudgingCard.com was developed and is now utilized by over 40 states across the nation, including being the official scoring system used for National FFA events.

Over the years, Clay has developed and expanded his services to help agricultural education teachers by developing an event registration system, electronic teacher contact directories and mobile apps. His passion is developing solutions for teachers that are both low cost and, more importantly, supportive of aiding teachers' role of helping the youth interested in agricultural education. He is a recipient of Honorary State FFA Degrees from both Arkansas and Texas and collaborates with agricultural universities nation wide to support the growth and development of agricultural education.
